Simon’s career has spanned roles in research, venture capital, and life science startup leadership. Previously, he was head of business development and then chief operating officer of an Oxford University spinout company, developing point of care diagnostics and systems for cell therapy production.

He was responsible for securing funding, originating and overseeing research and development (R&D) partnerships, and achieving regulatory approval and market launch for an at-home diagnostic test. His previous experience also includes roles at Epiphany Capital and H2O Venture Partners.

Simon holds a PhD in chemistry from the University of Bristol and he started his career as postdoctoral scientist at the University of British Columbia and Oxford University. During his time in research, he contributed to over 30 publications and two patents.
