Liani Gasparini Devito
SENIOR LABORATORY RESEARCH SCIENTIST
Liani Devito is a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine with an MSc in the Reproduction of Animals from UNESP (São Paulo State University, Botucatu campus). Originally from Brazil, she worked as a veterinarian specialised in the Reproduction of Farm Animals (including animal cloning) for more than seven years before changing her career path.
She received her MSc in Biomedical and Molecular Biology Research and later her Ph.D. in Gene, Cell, and Tissue therapy from King's College London (KCL). At KCL, she worked for almost eight years as the Senior Research Technician in Prof Dusko Ilic's Stem Cell Laboratory. Her research focused on human embryos, clinical-grade human embryonic stem cells, umbilical cord mesenchymal stem/stromal cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells (reprogramming, validation, and differentiation into a variety of cell types).
In 2019, she joined the Human Embryos and Stem Cell Unit (HESCU) at the Crick as a Senior Research Laboratory Scientist.
