Part of a cell analyser

Practical flow cytometry

  • Event date: -
  • Start time: 09:00 End time: - 17:00
  • Event Location: The Francis Crick Institute
  • Event Type: Training

This three-day course will serve as an introduction to the use of flow cytometry to delegates who have some flow cytometry experience and who wish to expand their knowledge.

We will cover the basics of fluorescence and the flow cytometer and demonstrate some of the more commonly used applications to illustrate how the cytometer can be used. We will cover multicolour fluorescence and compensation, DNA and cell cycle kinetics, cell death and apoptosis and receptor quantification. Delegates will have the opportunities to gain hands-on experience using either a BDLSRII or an LSR Fortessa and data generated will also be used to help illustrate how best to perform data analysis.

Places will be limited to 12 delegates to ensure maximum interaction. The lead tutor will be Derek Davies.
